devil's food cupcakes & caramel frosting (magnolia bakery)


I decided to try the devil's food cupcake and caramel frosting recipes from my Magnolia bakery cookbook. I must say the cake was delicious, very moist, great chocolate taste - loved it! The frosting however, bleech. It came out very grainy and all I could taste was the brown sugar. In the book they recommend leaving the frosting to sit overnight to help the graininess. I did. It still didn't help. I would not make the frosting again but will definitely use the cupcakes in another trial. Still looking for that perfect frosting!

In honor of my love of Kate Spade (and also hate since they make it impossible for me to afford any of their amazing things), I bought some cute pinwheel toothpicks to decorate. Spring has almost sprung!
