I made snickerdoodles awhile ago and forgot to post about them! These were a special request from our friend Holly and her soon to be born baby. I got the recipe from one of my favorite blogs, smitten kitchen. I never had a snickerdoodle before but they were quite good, pretty much a sugar cookie but with cinnamon. It made me wonder where they got their name, yay for internet! According to Wikipedia snickerdoodle is either Dutch or German in origin, no exciting story behind it, bummer.
The recipe makes several dozen. One of our batches got burnt, for me it was hard to tell when they were ready and then another batch we stored overnight and they got pretty crunchy. So we tried again and they were delicious, moist and chewy. Maybe these are the kind of cookies you just have to eat right out of the oven. Mom to be and baby approved!
